Their Paths 2

Continuing on the theme of "paths," here's another from the series of inside-out paintings I've been doing lately. This is a view I saw a few days ago out our sunroom window. It's sort of an abstract view of one of the paths the deer use to get to their stream.

Painting Inside Out

In between unpacking, arranging, installing and networking - I'm also getting a bit of painting done - something I could not do at Springs Gallery. Here are a couple of the latest 6" x 8"s, painted "inside out" (I'm inside painting out). The first one's titled "Dinnertime" and the second is "Their Paths." It's amazing to consider they were painted just 2 days apart, thanks to this crazy weather we're having. I've posted these and others by me and some new raku by Jim on our website too: klingerart.com. Enjoy!

Whew! - We did it!

Some folks picked up their work and Jim and I moved the rest of Springs Gallery to our new digs at KLINGER STUDIOS in Yellow Springs. What a task that was! We are now organizing, planning and arranging. As you can see here (KS front entrance and lane pictures), it's not quite the right time to be open yet. But when the weather breaks - KLINGER STUDIOS will start to host gallery events and workshops. We will only be open for events, classes, and by appointment. If anyone has ideas or suggestions for visual, literary, culinary, or performance arts workshops you'd like to teach and/or see us present - please comment here or drop us an email or snailmail. We have lots of space! And please feel free to click to follow us here and/or on facebook. Thanks!

Sea Glass Wire Wrapping a Hit!

Here (at left) is a photo from our most recent Sea Glass Wirewrapping workshop taught here by Catherine Wicks. And, shown in the preceding post below, are others photos from 2 more workshops we had here at the gallery this month. We hope folks will take a short drive in the country and enjoy a quiet, peacefull art-filled afternoon as we make our transition to KLINGER STUDIOS. Stay tuned (or better yet - sign up to follow us). Enjoy!

Classes Galore!

I admit I've been amiss in posting to this blog - I've been busy with sales, workshops - and life! On that note - here are some pictures (2 from the 12/1/12 workshop and 3 from the last one, on 12/2/12. Students learned how to make a sea glass and crystal necklace and bracelet set. A good time was reportedly had by all! Note: There's a nice little story here too: the last workshop we did, on 12/2/12, was a secret birthday gift from a local man (Nick Gaskins) to his wife Cris - owners of Bing Design in Yellow Springs. He (Nick) rounded up 4 of Cris' friends (all sworn to secrecy) and they just showed up here and gave her the surprise. Giving the gift of art - and what a nice gift it is! Stay tuned for more classes - and more big gallery news - in the days ahead. Enjoy!
