Newsy Stuff

Looks like the 11/5/11 jewelry class is a go - but there are still some spaces available if you're interested. Catherine is very creative and a hoot! Should be a fun time. Hope to see you there!

Also, if you're looking for a new blog to follow, consider my personal blog, ahem. It's http://klingerart.blogspot.com (or just click on the Christine Klinger Studios link in the links column on the right). It shows what I've been up to lately in the art realm and has lots of handy links and info. You could just go over for a visit and if you're interested - click on "join this site;" you can always "unjoin." If you're not interested - maybe you know a friend who would be. Anyway, enjoy!

Jewelry Workshop coming up at Springs Gallery

Discover the Goddess Within--A Jewelry Workshop with Catherine Wicks We are all Goddesses - beautiful in spirit and in our desire to adorn ourselves with sparkle and colour. This workshop is a personal time to make a beautiful, personal piece of jewelry. Raid your jewelry box for odd earrings, broken pendants, and non-jewelry mementos, and raid your tool box too. - Bring needle-nose pliers if you have them. We will not just recycle—we’ll up cycle (repurpose for a better use). We will make a necklace and earrings that will remind us of the unique, colourful spirit and joyful energy that we radiate every day; a time to make one-of-a-kind jewelry that reflects our personalities. The workshop will be led by Catherine Wicks, artist and breast cancer survivor. Catherine is a transplant from Birmingham, England. She has a fine arts degree from Sinclair Community College and has taught jewelry-making classes to women's groups in the Dayton area. Her unique jewelry designs and creations are represented by Springs Gallery. What: The cost for the workshop is $40; supplies and additional materials are included in the class fee. SOLD - The Great Miami River

Here's the first of a series of 3 - 9" x 12" oils on panel that I painted along (and in) dry parts of the Great Miami River outside Tipp City, OH, awhile back. Two of them are in my gallery - Springs Gallery in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and I'll be bringing in the third one (that I just finished) soon. Enjoy.

P.S. This piece, and the vertical painting in this series have now sold. Thanks.
