An Apple a Day goes to a new home

Another piece sold in my current show at The Winds. It's the little oil on Masonite painting, shown above, titled "An Apple a Day." The show stays up through Sunday Brunch on August 31. Hope you can catch it!

Thanks! P.S.

Thanks so much to the folks who came to my artist reception at The Winds yesterday. It was a small but fun event. And I made 2 sales! Yea!

The show will stay up until after Sunday brunch (3:30 pm) on August 31. I hope you catch it (or catch it again)!

Thanks!

P.S. And thanks again to my lovely sister-in-law, Marilyn, who volunteered to make these pictures of me with some of the pieces in my show.

Upcoming show at The Winds

Christine has a one-person show at The Winds Café in Yellow Springs from 8/5 - 8/31/14. There will be an artist's reception on Sunday, 8/10, from 4 - 6 pm. I hope you can come to the reception; if not - drop in sometime during the month of August!

The image to the left (from a painting in the show) is of an 8" x 10" oil titled My Meal 2. I'm painting meals (among other things) these days - not just because the show is at The Winds (although it's apropo) - but I just like painting them!

Heads are talking...

Well, better late than never, but our first course is underway at Klinger Studios. I am currently teaching a small clay sculpture class. We're just getting started but we're having fun. As usual, comments and suggestions are welcomed!

Out and About

I got a call today from Colin, one of the owners of Eclectic Essentials - a cool little shop in Dayton's Oregon District. He told me he sold 2 more of my paintings - yea! This made me realize I should inform folks that I have a lot of my work out and about these days. Besides Eclectic Essentials on 5th Street, I have quite a few paintings - large and small - at the (relatively) newly reopened Neil's (Heritage House) south of Dayton. They're remodeling and doing lots of cool events there; so it's fun, and an honor, to have been asked to be their current artist in residence. So if you're out and about (maybe when this weather breaks) - stop in and check out these places if you're so inclined. Thanks!
P.S. Here are a couple of photos I made yesterday of the activity at my bird feeders - lots of competition!

Busy as a Bee

I've been painting a lot lately - busy as my friend the BEE. I hope you don't mind my occasional ranting about bees these days. They are so important to our ecosystem and they are dying in droves. Diseases, yes, fungi, yes, but mostly from the toxic pesticides being sprayed on nearby farmers' fields. Yet another reason to go organic. Anyway, sorry for being a pest on facebook with petitions and such, but we have to save these little guys!!

Now, onto the business at hand: Above piece is an 18" x 24" oil self portrait I did recently. It's now on my website - klingerart.com - and on facebook, as my icon. I made it in a class at Sinclair and my great instructor, Mark Echtner, posted it (and many others) on facebook. Thanks, Mark!
