Blue Flower 2, acrylic on canvas, 12" square, C. Klinger

BASIC ACRYLIC PAINTING

Thursdays, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
December 1, 8, and 15, 2016 and March 16, 23, and 30 at 1:30-3:30pm
Instructor: Christine Klinger

Learn the basics of working in acrylic paint in this fun and helpful 3-session course at Yellow Springs Public Library. Subjects covered include the theme, composition and light quality of your paintings, as well as tools and materials, basic color theory, and the flexibility and nature of acrylics. Depending on interest, we can paint simple still lifes and landscapes. All materials you need will be provided, but feel free to bring in a few simple items to make your own personal still life and photographs or magazines or books showing simple landscapes you would like to paint. All levels are welcome.

Christine is a Yellow Springs resident, an active visual artist, and a current member of the Village Artisans Cooperative in Yellow Springs. She has taught art at Rosewood Arts Centre in Kettering, Riverbend Art Center, the Dayton Art Institute, and colleges in Ohio and California. She currently works in both oils and acrylics. To see some of Christine’s work, visit Village Artisans Gallery or Christine’s web site: klingerart.com.

Note: The December course is full (with a waitlist) but the March course may be available.
