Painting Away!
I know I haven't posted in awhile - but that doesn't mean I'm not working (or playing). Here's one of my newest. It's a 24" x 18" oil on canvas I call "Sunflower Bouquet." And there's lots more where that came from; check out our site, if inclined: www.klingerart.com. Enjoy!

On Down the Road...
Something's cooking out here at Klinger Studios. Thanks for your patience to date and lots more is needed. We had to put things on hold for awhile, but life is getting back to normal (whatever that is).
And so far, informally, we've hosted a jewelry workshop, a sculpture class, a creative writing group, and musical jams - and more activities are in the works. There is much work to be done in preparation for any kind of official opening but we promise to keep you posted on our future plans, dreams and activities out here.
Above is a photo I made awhile back of the lane leading to (or actually from) Klinger Studios. Stay tuned!

All Sunflowers All the Time! - Sunflower Art at the YS Arts Council
The Yellow Springs Arts Council, at 111 Corry St. in Yellow Springs, is hosting a show of sunflower art - much of it created at a "sunflower paint-out" coordinated by the Tecumseh Land Trust late last year. The owners of the land (the former Whitehall Farm) plant a field of sunflowers every year and entrusted their land to the Tecumseh Land Trust to keep it safe and sound, in perpetuity. That's what they do. For more info. on this great organization, check them out at: http://tecumsehlandtrust.org/.
My photo, above, is of my painting, "Sunflowers 2." The piece is a 20" x 16" oil on canvas. It is a vertical, as shown here, not a horizontal as shown in the current Dayton City Paper. Oh well, I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity. Anyway, I hope you can catch the YSAC show, which runs Sept. 19 - Oct. 11, 2015, with an artists' reception this Sunday, 9/27/15, 2 - 4 PM. It is free and open to the public. Good people will be there, good art will be shown and sold, and good food will be served! P.S. And a good percentage of artwork sales goes to the TLT.
P.P.S. Oh, that's me at that paint-out in the photo on the right!

SOLD - Mini Fire
Here's a picture of my oil on copper painting titled "Slow Burn 4," currently in the mini show at would you, could you in a frame? gallery in Yellow Springs. It (and others in the show) is 2" x 3". I am showing it here as it displays in the gallery, with the lovely matting and framing by gallery owner Sherryl Kostic. Thanks, Sherryl! The show is a very nice (last) mini show that had a great opening on June 19 and will run through July 11. Hope you can catch it! P.S. This piece has sold.

Lucky Me! - "HIGH CLOUDS" - SOLD
As mentioned, I have 3 paintings in the Village Artisan's current show entitled, "Scapes...of all kinds." (see previous post). I saw on their site that all 3 pieces made it on one wall - and in one image - on their site; so I'll share them here with you. They are the long thin vertical on the left (a treescape), the lower horizontal on its right (a riverscape), and the vertical to its right (a cloudscape) - THIS ONE SOLD.

Another Opening Another Show
I made the above image of a piece I recently painted entitled "Slow Burn." It's a "big guy" - a 3' X 5' oil on canvas - and it was accepted into The View, all-Ohio landscape competition, at Rosewood Gallery in Kettering, OH. The show runs (with regular gallery hours) 5/18 - 6/19/15, with an opening reception this Sunday, 5/17/15, from 2-4 pm.
I also have 3 paintings in the Village Artisan's show titled, "Scapes...of all kinds," in Yellow Springs, OH. The show runs from 5/8 - 6/15/15, with an opening reception this Friday, 5/15, from 6-9 pm. In fact, there are several art openings in Yellow Springs that night: beside Village Artisans', there is one at the Yellow Springs Arts Council and one at Would you, could you in a frame. All are free and open to the public. Come join us!
